Eurosoft (UK) Ltd, Bournemouth, England, 25 June 2019, announced they are integrating the latest release of ZeroData Windows, secure data erasure software, with the new 12N QR code standard developed by the Reverse Logistics Association (RLA.org).
Sponsored by FedEx Supply Chain, a proof-of-concept is underway in the FedEx computer refurbishment lab in Tennessee. The aim of this co-sponsored development is to demonstrate how FedEx utilise the 12N QR code and 12N QR Scan (in App Store) during its secure data erasure services performed on a variety of customers’ storage devices with the ZeroData Windows program.
The 12N standard, created by the RLA.org and InforMission over 7 years, is propagating a new, internationally acclaimed, standardised data format, allowing its 12N QR version to present over 4000 characters versus 500 characters of detailed information inside a QR code. This means users of the 12N QR can deliver 8-times more information than previous QR codes, scanned using only a mobile phone. As it is fully accredited for international use, public and private sector organisations have a recognised and supported framework with versatile 12N field identifiers that are selectable to fit specific business needs. 12N is abbreviated for MH10 12N Data Identifier recognised by ANSI-approved ANSI MH10.8.2 and ISO 15434 international standards for encoding information on global packaging. The 12N standard allows companies to build on existing data formats. It functions as an XML Tag and converts data with JSON formats for Cloud enablement.
ZeroData Windows is a commercial data erasure software program, based on the Microsoft Windows operating system, erasing up to 99 drives per system on data storage such as NVMe, SSD, ATA, RAID and others as a portable or industrial configuration; supporting 22 international data erasure compliances and developed as an add-on support tool for the Pc-Check diagnostic software suite originated by Eurosoft (UK) Ltd, Bournemouth, England, a private limited company of 39 years.
FedEx Supply Chain, is a subsidiary of FedEx, formerly known as GENCO, providing third-party logistics in the United States and Canada for various industries such as technology and electronics, consumer and industrial goods, and healthcare industries. InforMission, Fremont, California, are strategic IT and systems consultants and RLA.org members. The Reverse Logistic Association, headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, is a 17 year global trade association, with board members such as Dell, Google and FedEx, uniting the 12N protocols.
