Data erasure with ZeroData Windows saves time, is economical and delivers certification…
When faced with customer insistence for other data erasure programs, the balance of request versus cost is undoubtably worth considering. Customers need choices and they like options. Computer assets, systems and devices of all kinds typically achieve higher value with the added attention of testing and/or securely erased drives. Depending how the asset may be used, reused, recycled or reluctantly destroyed, the governance of how that asset was tested or data erased, can influence the choice of tool.
Importantly, the report advice prepared from tools and solutions is paramount for recordation across all sectors, public and private entities, small to large. Certified reports for the tool or solution usage, and the data erasure results, are critical. For some, a recognised product brand matters, and for others, it’s the effectiveness of the product that’s important.
Costs and price points must be considered. Operations may need to adjust to a new product and the processes for change can take added time. Point: cost savings is easily accepted, and change that saves cost is good business practice. Options: offer data erasure choices – one saves money and time, the other costs more, but gives a brand essence. The trade-off of brand versus savings should be the customers’ decision.
Regarding certification, ZeroData Windows achieved independent certification from the ASCLD/LAB International accredited forensic testing laboratory. ISO/IEC 17025:2005, Levels I, II and III back in 2018. Millions of storage drives have been certified as securely wiped since then, globally. Level I Media Erasure Verification Analysis & Report (HDD and SSD), Level II Media Erasure Verification Analysis & Report (HDD only) and Level II Media Erasure Verification Analysis & Report (NAND Based Media Only). The aim and result from all tests and analysis is to ensure 100% removal of all data, not recoverable from the target device.
